Mike Schamberger has been in public accounting for 19 years-all in the audit practice. Mike leads the Technology Industry Practice in Chicago and for the Midwest Region.
His current client base includes both domestic and international public and private companies with revenues ranging from start-up enterprises to entities with $350 million in sales.
Experience
Mike started his career in 1987 with a large public accounting firm then joined Grant Thornton in 1989 as a audit senior. In 1995, Mike transferred to the Firm’s Professional Standards Group where he spent two years researching and answering technical accounting and auditing issues for the Mid-West region. In 1997, Mike joined Transamerica Business Credit where he held various positions including: National Audit Manager, Underwriter, Portfolio Manager and Marketing Manager providing senior secured loans to middle market companies. In 2000, Mike returned to Grant Thornton as an audit senior manager to lead the technology industry practice for the Chicago office.
Industry Experience
Mike’s expertise is in serving early stage and middle market, owner operated and publicly held entities in advance technology including software, hardware, internet, telecommunications, IT consulting services and bio tech.
International Experience
A majority of Mike’s clients have international locations where there are, at a minimum, a number of sales offices and/or significant subsidiaries where audits are required to be performed. Mike’s client base has international locations through-out the globe.
