Joe BasileJoe Basile, a partner in the firm's corporate and finance areas, represents parties in complex domestic and cross-border transactions. His practice includes mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, strategic alliances, private equity transactions and financial restructurings. In addition to practicing law, Joe has taught corporate and commercial courses as a full-time professor of law, and continues to teach as an adjunct professor.

Representative Transactions

  • Represented a European buyer in connection with the $2.2 billion acquisition of a publicly held U.S. publishing company
  • Represented a bondholders' committee in connection with a £5 billion debt restructuring by a publicly held English telecommunications company
  • Advised unsecured creditors’ committee on the corporate aspects of an $11 billion Chapter 11 reorganization of a publicly held energy company
  • Represented a major U.S. aerospace company in the formation of a strategic alliance with a Japanese partner to establish an inventory distribution center for Asia in Tokyo
  • Represented an aircraft engine maintenance services provider in the negotiation of a 20 year exclusive contract with a major air freight carrier expected to generate approximately $2 billion in revenue
  • Represented the purchaser in the acquisition, for approximately $70 million, of an aircraft parts repair business located in Springdale, Arkansas
