Technical Writer: System Toolkit Documentation

Softrax Corporation is seeking a technical writer with API documentation experience and experience writing and delivering developer guides for service-oriented architectures (SOA) built on .NET technology.

The technical writer should be experienced at working closely with developers and architects to deliver the following types of documentation:

• Web services API and implementation
• Rules engine API and implementation
• BPEL API and implementation
• Deployment

This position requires excellent writing and interpersonal skills, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and the ability to communicate information clearly. Candidate should be task-oriented and have experience planning and executing both short and long-term goals. This involves researching highly technical and business-specific information and interviewing programmers and product managers.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in English, Technical Writing, Computer Science, or a related field
• At least 5 years experience writing API/developer/deployment documentation for commercial software (technical/professional writing experience in financials or operations products, related enterprise products such as ERP, or a similar product is a benefit)
• Solid experience writing for service-oriented architectures (SOA) and .NET technologies
• Excellent writing skills and awareness of industry standards in writing styles for technical and professional information
• Solid experience producing and maintaining online Help and other online documentation
• Experience using Adobe Acrobat to produce .pdf releases of the documentation
• Understanding of the documentation design and delivery process
• Proven ability to deliver quality documentation on schedule

Preferred Skills:

• Knowledge of accounting, accounting standards and regulations, and the financial industry
