Senior Release Engineer
SOFTRAX Corporation is seeking an experienced release engineer for a key senior role in the configuration management, automated daily builds, and installation program development for the company’s next generation suite of commercial server software products. The position will focus on development of scripts, programs and practices to maintain and enhance the build environment and tools for our products, and on the systems engineering and provisioning of the server lab environment. We support multiple code lines and build/deliver frequent releases.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with source code management for the R&D organization, including administration of multiple Subversion repositories.
- Develop and manage automated daily build and release processes and tools.
- Develop and manage automated provisioning and configuration of VMware infrastructure.
- Develop and manage automated provisioning and execution of networked multi-server test environments, to assist testing of enterprise SOA message oriented server products.
- Assist in the design of tools to allow efficient configuration management, build and release of software developed in C#, XML, Web Services, ASP.Net, SQL Server and Oracle databases, and web based infrastructure components.
- Develop and manage tools and practices for scalability and performance testing.

Requirements:
- 5+ years experience in software engineering / release engineering / configuration management
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work both independently and with others
- Subversion administration expertise; VSS and PVCS a plus.
- Proficient in scripting utilities (Nant, VBScript, Perl, PowerShell)
- Proficient in programming with C# and XML; would consider someone with Java skills willing to learn C#.
- Server and Network Engineering, including TCP/IP, Active Directory, Performance Monitoring, RAID, Application Server Administration
- VMware Infrastructure Administration
- CruiseControl highly desired.
- InstallShield highly desired.
- Visual Build highly desired.
