Staff Accountant

Job Description: 

The Staff Accountant will report to the Manager of Accounting. This position organizes and carries out the necessary monthly accounting, recording, and documentation activities required to properly record all assigned general ledger transactions and to produce the company's financial statements accurately and according to a detailed closing schedule. The Staff Accountant is responsible for preparing and posting assigned monthly general ledger journal entries. Attention to detail is required to ensure that accurate amounts are posted to the correct account number for a particular entity in the proper accounting period. Also responsible for various other accounting duties related to the closing schedule, including bank and general ledger account reconciliations. The following job duties are general requirements and are not to be considered all-inclusive.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and input all necessary general ledger journal entries on a monthly basis. Assist with generation and preparation of system reports, spreadsheets, etc.
• Reconcile assigned balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis to ensure proper classifications and balances, and perform reconciliation of all assigned general ledger accounts on a monthly basis.
• Responsible for month end closing update of general ledger accounting periods.
• Assist with annual audit.
• Accounts Payable processing - enter invoices, match to POs, check run processing, calculate accruals and vendor relations.
• Posting daily cash receipts.
• Expense report processing.
• Other duties as assigned.
