Account Manager

Job Description: 

This position is for an experienced professional who will be responsible for establishing and maintaining customer relationships. The Account Manager will be able to capitalize on these efforts by proactively selling into the installed customer base and by managing the customer relationship. The position places a major focus on growing customer satisfaction through constant ‘pulse taking’ which also identifies revenue opportunities.

This position requires an Account Manager that has demonstrated customer management and communication skills. In addition, this position requires the solid understanding of AFS applications to facilitate customer relationships and maximize sales opportunities to existing customers. Experience selling software and services to an existing customer base is essential to this position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Sell software existing customers
  • Hit target sales and services quotas
  • Serve as customer advocate within the organization
  • Serve as a point of escalation for key customer issues
  • Increase customer satisfaction via proactive customer communications and in person visits
  • Cultivate services opportunities for technical services and professional services teams
  • Identify opportunities for customer upgrades
  • Managing customer reference status and coordination of customer references
  • Work with marketing to support installed base marketing programs

Knowledge Required

  • 3-5 years in a role involving direct customer interactions and problem resolution preferably in the software industry
  • 3-5 years sales experience working with an established installed customer base
  • Confidence and professionalism to be able to handle customer situations as they arise
  • Ability to work with professional services group to manage the delivery of sold elements
  • Ability to interact with product development group to represent and support customer requirements
  • Contract negotiation experience to support the sales aspect of the position
  • Ability to travel as required; projected at not more than 25% of time
  • Working knowledge of accounting application and concepts
  • Ability to “control the room” when presented with a customer emergency

Contacts

This position requires frequent contact with all levels of employees as well as customers. Contact will be achieved through in person meetings, phone conversations, and e-mail. This position reports to the VP of Products and Customer Relations.

Decision Making/Creativity

This position requires creativity in developing and implementing programs for targeting existing customers will “up-sell” opportunities.

Responsibility

Establish customer relationships that lead to increased customer satisfaction and achievement of revenue goals.

Working Conditions

The employee will be working in an office environment with all the necessary equipment and supplies needed to ensure success in their position. Extensive computer work required.
